Iraq urges calm ahead of Saddam verdict
By CHRISTOPHER BODEEN, Associated Press Writer 38 minutes ago
SNIP
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's prime minister on Saturday urged his countrymen to accept the impending verdict against Saddam Hussein without violence, then in the next breath declared the former dictator must get "what he deserves" with the decision that could send him to the gallows.
This morning.
Just kidding. It was a picture of her in her final week at NBC. She just had a little tear in her eye, but I Photoshopped extra tears, red eyes, and pulled down the corners of her mouth to sadden her further.
Spies have been tried for treason outside of a declaration of war... or is that different?
When Clark filed for a stay of judgement, it pretty well cleared up what impact the Dims think it will have.
One of the sad realities of our era: A man who put hundreds to death and gassed his own people was tried and found guilty and Americans want to complain about the verdict...
When justice and integrity go out of the window and only power grabbing and expediency are left, what does it say about the inner being of such people?
They too are brushed with the same sickness that Saddam has.
If the hanging gets botched, these three will walk. It is not over until everything is done properly. The last thing that anybody wants is for there to be an appearance of the US condoning sidestepping the Iraqi law, or influencing their judicial process. We are trying to help them become independent by providing security, rebuilding infrastructure, and strengthening civil administration; so that they can retake their government, country, and dignity. That is the exit plan. We have been asked to stay the course until Iraq is secure and functional. Their elected leadership has responsibilities, as does ours.
It would seem so. Liked your GOTV thread, BTW.

THANK YOU for your wonderful reporting and for your desire to be there to assist our fabulous Military and the Iraqis! I appreciate it very much!
It makes sense. Rather is Saddam's #1 fan, apologist and sycophantic buttkisser.
Courage, Dan.
Do you mean are they raising money for Kiran? She'd be a great spokesperson for the Dems, that's for sure. She looked so pained for Saddam. Kiran and Shep Smith would be a dream team for the pro-gay agenda/pro-abortion/I feel sorry for terrorists ticket.
Here's a small list of headlines I saw on the verdict...interesting:
Amnesty condemns Saddam's death verdict
Britain welcomes Saddam death verdict
Iraqi PM: Hussein most horrid leader in Iraqi history
US says Saddam verdict "Good day" for Iraqis
Hamas: Saddam death sentence regrettable
Iran welcomes death sentence to Saddam
Spanish PM: Saddam verdict good, US invasion bad
The humor of the picture is revealed best if you have the option enabled in your browser to play animations in web pages.
The picture is an animated GIF file and the little kitten is batting at the feet of the corpse making the legs sway. If you're not seeing that, the picture is more grim than it is meant to be. :-)
