Robert Gates, 59, the man nominated as the new Defence Secretary, is a former Director of the CIA and a foreign policy pragmatist who strongly supports direct negotiations with Iran.

I'm sure there are those who will disagree, but I think this is a good thing. While Ahmadinejad might indeed be a "terrorist" he is also the leader of a powerful state, and we need to do whatever is necessary to try to keep him from having the bomb.
