Glad to know you're not jaded by life.
Well, this is certainly interesting.
Tyler Durden meets Web 2.0?
Why did I bother posting this?

Holy Crap! That's one of my favorite running spots in San Jose, and I used to eat lunch there every day!
I used to religiously run laps around that building's block - it is a huge building, that takes up the whole block when you include the parking lot. It's nice because it's a shade under a mile, and eBay / Paypal keeps a well-watered (& thus cushy) lawn around the whole thing, which is just what a big guy like me needs in a running surface.
I know some people who work there, too. Time to send out some e-mails....
It was overdue..

Blown out windows and explosion like noises would be consistent with a halon fire extinguishing system going off. The windows blowing out sort of defeats the purpose of the halon but a halon system oversized for the space could easily create enough pressure when discharging to blow out windows.
My husband just heard this on the news so I did a search on FR for Ebay to find the story. Right underneath I found this.

It was posted on the 25th of October. It is an article about a Christian group that is very upset about Ebay allowing the selling of relics of Saints on their site.
The group said they were calling for a boycott starting on All Saints Day, which is today, Nov.1.
