Vanity, Need help with friend sucked into WTC conspiracy.

I have a friend at church who has seemed a little distant for a couple of months. Last week he approached my brother and I with a DVD he wanted us to see. It is the WTC conspiracy. He has fallen for it and thinks that Bush and the Jews brought down the towers. This is a guy that

I feel very bad for him. Honestly, a couple of months ago he was a very normal guy, now he seems like a paranoid schizophrenic. He may be too far gone but he has sucked his five sons into this delusion, one of them a decorated Iraq vetaran.

Does anyone have access to a MP4 video that refutes this nonsense that I can burn to a DVD and give him. Or is there a commercial video I can purchase? I don't know if he will watch it but I hope to give his boys the other side.

He is beyond discussion, when cornered, he thinks than Bin Laden was in on the plot with Bush and the Jews. I have not watched his video, I don't need the frustration.

He is trying to pass this video around to church members so they know who to vote for.

You know who should be most offended by this WTC conspiracy? Al Quada and Osama. Basically what the theory says is that these guys couldn't do anything unless the United States let them. (Funny when we can't seem to stop them in other parts of the world, but okay.)

Yeah - I believe that the WTC collapsed because of controlled explosions inside of course, if I was planning on killing several thousand people I personally wouldn't have cared if the explosions were controlled or not. The fact that two COMMERCIAL JET LINERS hit the buildings was just window dressing that had nothing to do with it.

You think if Bush was really behind the disaster, he wouldn't have ordered all the planes out of the air in the wake of the tragedy...

I have a theory about how to mess with the minds of 9/11 conspiracy theorists, although I have not yet put it to the test against a real-life nutjob. The 9/11 conspiracy kooks are probably all expecting objections to fall into one or several of the following categories:

• appeals to logic, reason, and facts
• disbelief that elements of the US government would have done such a criminal act
• unwillingness to believe that the government is competent enough to pull it off

My theory is that they will be left unprepared and stammering if you hit them with the following, competing nutjob theory:

1. First, agree with them, at least partially: the World Trade Center and Pentagon were not attacked by passenger airplanes piloted by Islamist terrorists
2. Rather, the buildings were hit by drone aircraft, but the real damage was done by previously-planted controlled demolition explosives
3. But, the US government was neither involved in the plot, nor were they aware of the plot
4. Instead, it was the "action branch" of the French secret service, in a conspiracy with the highest levels of the French government, that was responsible for the attack
5. The French secret service, "La Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure " (or DGSE) has a long history of perpetrating clandestine operations in support of France's political and strategic and economic goals
6. For example, the DGSE was responsible for sinking of the Greenpeace boat the Rainbow Warrior in 1985
7. France has never been a true ally of the United States - rather, France has long been a fierce competitor and secret enemy of the United States
8. France has long worked to undermine the standing of the United States among the countries of the Islamic world, and especially among those in the Middle East, which is in France's backyard and has long been one of France's colonial outposts
9. The strategic goal of the operation was to cause a backlash within the United States against the governments and populations of the Middle East and among Muslims in general
10. The expected outcome of that strategy was to boost France's economy and standing in the Islamic world, and especially among the oil-producing countries, while damaging the United States' economy and standing with the Muslims and oil producers - clearly that strategy has worked according to the French plan
11. For many years, France subverted the sanctions against Saddam Hussein's regime, by collaborating in the Oil-for-Food scam and by selling weapons to Iraq
12. France has continued to subvert the goals of the United States by preventing any meaningful action from being taken against the Iranian nuclear weapons development program
13. It is the goal of France for the EU to become the world's only superpower by eclipsing the United States, with France being the defacto leader of the EU
14. In keeping with that goal, France needed to get the United States bogged down in expensive Mideast wars, which would allow France to ally with Germany, Russia and China in opposition to the United States
15. France is working to establish the Euro as the currency in which oil transactions are performed
16. Related to that move, France is working to control the bulk of the world's oil reserves
17. Per the US State Department, In 2002, French conspiracy theorist Thierry Meyssan wrote a book suggesting that a cruise missile instead of a plane hit the Pentagon on September 11, and the planes that hit the World Trade Center towers had not been hijacked but were piloted by remote control. Mr. Meyssan believes both attacks were masterminded not by al Qaeda, but "from inside the American state apparatus."
18. Thierry Meyssan was working in concert with the DGSE to plant disinformation with which to tarnish the United States government and rally an American fifth-column to sow political discord and chaos within the US, further undermining American leadership and credibility
19. Therefore, clearly all of the American 9/11 Truth conspiracy theorists are dupes of the French - they are merely parrotting the disinformation that was planted by the French government, who was in fact the party responsible for the attacks on 9/11

Why that cant be! Everybody knows that steel retains the same exact strenght at all temperatures, right up untill the point it becomes a liquid! (Or in the case of extremely high temps like those brought on by say having a 747 slammed into it, vapor!) And even if liquified or vaporized it still holds up tons of weight untill getting the signal from Karl Rove to collapse!

Maybe it is a phase. Since he is a fellow believer you might overlook the conspiracy aspect. I haven't heard you say he denies the deity of Christ or holds whacked out Christian doctrines.

THAT would be a reason for more concern. Salvation doesn't hinge on someone's confession of (or denial of) any theory about earthly events.
