I've struggled with that also, but I've come to this realization: one should not be stirred to anger against an enemy on their own behalf, because it only breeds vengeance and hatred - which fogs reason and logic and defies discipline required of a disciple. HOWEVER, one can and must seek justice and may rightly intercede on behalf of another who's been or is being wrongly treated. One may do so while remaining biblically principled. (Romans Ch.13)

With the proper focus,the need for vengeance can be a driving force so great that one may overcome obstacles that would make others turn and run halfway through the battle.
