It was a beautiful post, Jeff and I was doubly blessed, onyx. I was a CA resident the eight years he was Governor.
I was too! Native San Diegan here.
I saw him in person while he was our governor.
GOP was a weak-kneed party of Rockefeller ...
I saw Rush!!!!!.....
In person?
Born and raised in So CA lived in San Gabriel valley, mostly Azusa and Glendora area.
We were almost neighbors --- 120 miles....
I used to go to San Diego once in a while to take the sportfishing boats out for Albacore. It was excellent fishing years ago.
Yes, I went once and got sick. I think I was tweleve years old and the only girl. :(
Hi Jaz! I'm just poppin' in before I head to bed. Wanted to let you know that I'm praying that Diana Irey will be victorious tomorrow!! I can't wait to vote in the Alaska election tomorrow. I've studied up and I'm ready to roll. :)
Thank you for all you've done! chena
Ha! I was lucky in that I never got seasick. Most of the Albacore boats would go out 50 to 80 miles depending on the fish that year and it could really get rough. I always felt really sorry for those that were sick, they were very miserable.
I still managed to catch the most fish that day. Everyone wanted to "help" me!
Goodnight, from your new FRiend, and God Bless!
Thank you, Chena for your support and your prayers. Looks like everyone has done all they can including Diana and the big day will arrive in a few hours. G'Night.
I lived in Glendora as a mere child---too long ago to tell you....
hint- I watched the Beatles on Ed Sullivan when I lived there....
When she wins, will she be FR's first Congressperson?
Yep, I bet people were helpful. Most fishermen were good people. Those trips were long but a lot of fun.
I was so brave and had a wonderful time despite being seasick.
Believe it or not but I predated Ed Sullivan there. My mom and Dad both grew up there from when they were very young. It's amazing what a small world. I've met several from that area in my short time here.
Good point, Jeff. I never gave that any thought, I guess I figured there'd been others elected with the help of FReepers.
