Yes. I'm glad we have people like OR, Sean, Rush, Ann Coulter, etc., who no longer allow themselves to be walked over by those people. The guy in the blue shirt was apoplectic about the ACLU, if we hadn't caught on by then he certainly clued us in by then.

"Proud of her abortion, aged 13 yrs."

Where did you get that?
From what I read she suffered a miscarriage at the age of 14 - the product of abuse by a relative.

The title of this does not conjure up a pretty picture.

Good assessment of Oprah. It IS frightening how many women do follow her, like a cult leader. But she does give conservatives access to her forum, is friendly, and I think she is one of the (extremely few) decent democrats-- she just doesn't understand conservatism, but she's not a moonbat.

You know, many here are too young to remember Barbara Jordan. She was a very articulate black lady who was very much a democrat, but someone I admired. Go back and read some of her speeches, and compare them to what passes for democrat leadership today.

Your thoughts on Oprah made me think of her.

Having said that, Oprah was on with Bryant Gumble a few years back, and they were both embarrassingly ignorant.

My husband called and said he was listening to O'Reilly on the radio and he's talking about his stent on Letterman, said it was worse than last time -- Rude, Arrogant, Condesending and then after OR leaves he says and now a great American Tim Robbins is next....

Yep, my husband said he guessed he's going to have to tape Letterman tonight. We haven't watched his show in years.

Same here, Carolyn. I can't stand Letterman, but after this, I'll likely hate him.

I don't particularly like O'Reilly, but I admit he has his moments some times. :-) I forgot to watch, and I actually wanted to see this.

A lot of conversation back and forth about O'Reilly in the thread, but little specifics. Since you're a fan, do you mind relating some specific moments of Bill's performance on the show? I'm sure he'll have clips tonight, but anything you particularly liked? Specific question asked? Reponses?

I'm especially interested in how he shut down the Liberals in the audience that recycle talking points.

our local channel usually re-runs the days' Oprah show late in the evening. Check your listings to see if you can tape it. It got very testy with some in the audience. Just because he was in Oprahs studio he didn't stop being O'Reilly.

Thanks. My station usually goes black after the late shows run, but I'll double check tonight on the off chance they think it's worth running again.

Testy I don't mind, I only mind when people won't fight back and allow themselves to be intimidated. From the clip I saw yesterday, didn't seem to be the case here which is why I wanted to see it.

Nope, and I just read the story about how vicious Letterman was towards O'R.

These libs are truly out of their minds.

It's more of a divide between the sane and the insane.

They're so illogical that it's frightening.

Talk about mind numbed robots.

But she does give conservatives access to her forum, is friendly, and I think she is one of the (extremely few) decent democrats-- she just doesn't understand conservatism, but she's not a moonbat.

Regarding the conservative access, O'Reilly took her to task precisely because Oprah rarely has conservatives on her program. According to O'Reilly:

Most who appear on Ms. Winfrey's show benefit from the experience greatly. But an analysis of the programs shows that liberal guests far outnumber conservatives and traditionalists in the arena. We can only find four traditional guests in the past four years. Four. President Bush, Rudy Giuliani, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mel Gibson.-- Bill O’Reilly and Michelle Malkin Take on Oprah Winfrey

A generally pleasant smile and friendly demeanor does not ipso facto mean a person is decent. A decent person, by definition, is implicitly also a fair and charitable person. Oprah's show often provides evidence against her on that count.

For example, do you believe that Oprah's coverage of the aftermath of Katrina was fair and charitable toward the person of President Bush? He was regularly painted, implicitly and explicitly, as either an uncaring incompetent or a malicious racist figure deserving of blame for causing much of the death and despair wrought by Katrina that Oprah featured in such dramatic fashion on her show.

Bush as all around evil villain--liar, murderer, war-monger, fear-monger, destroyer of the environment, "Big Oil" Buddy, leader of intolerant anti-women, anti-gay, anti-civil rights Christian theocrats--is a frequent underlying theme on Oprah's show, with nary a voice raised in the president's defense. Oprah is often seen nodding her head in apparent approval as Bush is unfairly and uncharitably maligned by her obviously indecent Moonbatty guests.

Going to have to disagree with you on this one.

I wouldn't even give Letterman the ratingds. To have a guest on your show and then insult him as badly as Letterman does is outrageous. It must have been awful, because even O'Reilly said not to bother to watch it!!! And he NEVER says that.
