The cross from the altar area of the Wren Chapel has been removed to ensure that the space is seen as a nondenominational area, Melissa Engimann, assistant director for Historic Campus, said in an e-mail to Wren building employees.
“In order to make the Wren Chapel less of a faith-specific space, and to make it more welcoming to students, faculty, staff and visitors of all faiths, the cross has been removed from the altar area,” Engimann said.

What is a chapel without a cross?
If the supreme sacrifice isn't worth commemorating, just how sanctified is the chapel? Might just as well take the whole thing out and raise the flag of agnostics or athiests.

The Christian religion, which has standards of behavior and a bunch of "thou shalt nots" is and has been under attack by the pin-headed elite for some time. The elite want to do whatever they want to do to whomever they want to do it to. But Christianity says "No." Hence their not so subtle daily attacks. Just watch (if you must) South Park to see the barrage of filth thrown at the Christian Church in every episode.
Just amazing! But I'm not surprised.
Why not leave the cross in there as being representative of the religion that allows all people not of the religion to worship as they choose, IIRC.
As you might know, the Moors built Mosques inside at least one Spanish Cathedral

“In order to make the Wren Chapel less of a faith-specific space, and to make it more welcoming to students, faculty, staff and visitors of all faiths, the cross has been removed from the altar area,” Engimann said.
The cross will be returned to the altar for those who wish to use it for events, services or private prayer. Student tour guides have been directed to pass any questions or complaints about the change on to administrators.
The cross was in place because of the College’s former association with the Anglican Church. Though the College is now public and nondenominational, the room will still be considered a chapel.

Maybe not directly but I'd bet they applauded it as a victory.
Sorry! I didn't know the rules for excerpting articles. I was angry enough when I saw this article though that I just wanted to get it online to show everyone what the war on Christianity is like.
Am I the only one surprised an article like this appeared in a COLLEGE newspaper?
This is truly ashame. William and Mary is one of the oldest(and was one of the finest) schools in the Country.
