Since they can't win the usual way, they resort to assorted practices of subterfuge and deception.

Liberals cannot win if they run on what they really stand for. To win they have to masquerade as something they are not. Sometimes this hypocrisy is quite humorous. An example from the last last presidential election: listening to John Kerry try to misquote, I mean quote the bible was funny (yet awful).

If people rely on Google to vote, all is lost. For heaven's sakes, don't these type of voters ever read or see things about their candidates other than having to 'look them up on Google'?? Now that this tactic has been exposed, I wonder if the RNC will come up with its own Net bomb!?

So they are admitting that the only way they think they can win is by misrepresentation?

Liberals entire election stra-tee-ger-ry is based on misrepresentation. They know they cannot win if they run on what they actually believe.

This ny times article is false. I've googled several of the names mentioned and the results are normal.

That's certainly possible, but it's also possible that Google has already countered the scheme.

Google's founders lean to the left, but it's also true that they enjoy great wealth, as a result of their franchise. Allowing their page ranking system to be manipulated could destroy a multi-billion dollar franchise, very quickly. Google has acted aggressively, in the past, to defeat schemes like this.

This whole thing is quite amusing. The Phoenix New Times is a free paper given away at supermarkets that is mostly advertising. IMO, the articles in that paper are poorly researched, filled with opinions presented as facts, and written in a cool, loose, unprofessional style. The idea that the Phoenix New Times is a soure that is "widely trusted in the given district" is laughable. I doubt that many people even read the articles in that paper. They just pick it up for the listings of musical and theatre shows and other events in this area. This Google Bomb idea will bomb like all the other stupid tactics the Dims are trying to use against us.

As of this minute, kyl.senate.gov and jonkyl.com are still the first two results from Google. Google would have to change its search logic for this Google bomb idea to work. I don't think they're going to do that. But I'll keep an eye on this and watch for any changes in the search results.

"Considering google leans left themselves one wonders whether this was an inside job."

I could not agree more...Google is always suspect in my book.

Considering google leans left ...

Understatement of the Day!!

Google stopped "Leaning Left" a long time ago when they fell clean off the Left Edge into the Abyss ...

Good point about their holiday adornments, or lack thereof for important holidays.

As always the left suffers from SEVERE bouts of psychological diseases. The cognitive dissonance knows no bounds, but here is another perfect example of their PROJECTION

So they want to 'massage the results' of this computer search engine thinking it 'totally fair and fine' while spinning crazy conspiracy theories where karl rove is hacking diebold voting machines to steal the election for the 4th election in a row.

“We don’t condone the practice of Google bombing, or any other action that seeks to affect the integrity of our search results,” said Ricardo Reyes, a Google spokesman.

The company’s faith in its system has produced a hands-off policy when it comes to correcting for the effects of Google bombs in the past. Over all, Google says, the integrity of the search product remains intact.

Writing in the company’s blog last year, Marissa Mayer, Google’s director of consumer Web products, suggested that pranks might be “distracting to some, but they don’t affect the overall quality of our search service, whose objectivity, as always, remains the core of our mission.”

But Mr. Bowers suggested that he was acting with complete transparency and said he hoped political campaigns would take up the tactic, which he called “search engine optimization,” as a standard part of their arsenal.

Mr. Bowers said he did not believe the practice would actually deceive most Internet users.

“I think Internet users are very smart and most are aware of what a Google bomb is,” he said, “and they will be aware that results can be massaged a bit.”

I can't remember the last time I used google candidates names, if ever. I have used google recently to look up political speeches. Here are a couple of the greatest political speeches of all time.

Ronald Reagan's "Evil Empire" Speech
This speech was delivered to the people of West Berlin, yet it was also audible on the East side of the Berlin wall..... Tear down this wall!
