How Disturbing (McCaskill/Talent Race turns nasty - thank you Michael J. Fox)
Red State ^ | 10/23/06 | Erick Posted

The race in Missouri between Jim Talent and Claire McCaskill took a disturbing turn last night. In the St. Louis market during the World Series, Michael J. Fox shot an ad on behalf of Claire McCaskill on the sole issue of stem cells.

The ad, which will probably now embolden the cut and run conservatives to run in droves to the polls, was both exploitative and manipulative.

The ad was perhaps too clever for McCaskill. It is an issue seen by many voters as being personal and non-political. Yet, McCaskill and the left have repeatedly pulled the issue into gutter politics and exploited the hopes and fears of many. This is just the latest example of the exploitation of life at the hands of the Democrats.

While there may be some momentary benefit for McCaskill, my sense is that voters who might have wanted to stay home and protest the GOP will become enraged enough to go vote and other voters will feel dirty enough from viewing the ad to vote against McCaskill. Sometimes emotional ads are just too raw for voters. This is one of those times.

Do you think he deliberately played up the palsy for this ad?

Knowing parkinsons, probably not. I think playing up the false hope that injecting cells from dead babies will cure that disease is far worse.

mjf is Canadian, therefore his opinion is that of a foreigner... unless he has attained US citizenship... and if so... did he retain dual citizenship? If he did, why?

Traditionally, campaigns use 50% of the entire budget just during the final week.

Reminds me of some parody years ago, maybe on SNL of the Patricia Neal coffee commercial. Remember? "My husband is a very demanding man!" They had her shaking the coffee cup and spilling it everywhere.

Michael J. Fox is an actor and is beholden to liberal Hollywood for his success.

I think the old advertising tag line is appropo for this ad, "Was it real, or was it memorex."

Michael J. Fox is not even an American citizen. He's Canadian and has absolutely no business doing these kinds of hit piece ads.

Don't quote me on this, but I think he has had American citizenship for a while now. It's still sad that he takes this route in his desperation to be cured.

My husband's grandmother had Parkinson's. She didn't even shake as much as I have seen Michael J. Fox shake on some of these commercials.

I now boycott.

I to use the same philosophy as you. I will not purchase any product advertised by any supporter for the left.

One thing that helps me is, that I want listen or watch anything liberal. I notice sometimes here at FR people make comments pertaining to something CNN has aired. I could care less what CNN has to say on any subject and, wish fellow free-per would do the same.

This net work, CNN is nothing but a mouth piece for the Democrat Party and, its contents.

Did you see his last interview? Big difference between a scene with many takes and just day to day living.

I sure do.

It could not be more obvious.

Sutter Caine - In the Mouth of Madness. If the Dems lose in 2 weeks, I expect thats what it will be like - with Murtha playing the lead role.

I think the whole idea that someone would vote on one issue is a sad truth about the quality of the voting public these days. I would consider one issue in my deliberations but I would hardly make a call based on this one issue. MJF, has parkinsons, smoked/smokes like a feind, and one wonders how impassionaite he'd be if he did not have parkinsons?
