Actually, the party in PA, with the help of the national party, quashed all attempts to hold real primaries in several races; not the least of which was the Senate Race in 2004....and most recently, the Governors race. The Republican controlled state legislature also worked hand in glove with the Democratic Gov to pass an absolutely egregious payraise for state government...making PA pols the second highest paid in the nation, but in the aggregate, the most expensive legislature in the nation.

The Republican party, particularly in the state of PA, is filthy, rotten, putrid to the core. We can't wait to clean this mess up.

Until such time as the party machine at the local, state and national levels learns to keep their grubby mits off the primary, the general must be fair game. We will do what we have to do even if it's in the general.

The voters of your state ALLOWED that to happen....."Good Ole boy" GOP supported RINOs were only choices in the primary. Drafted Tom Coburn and he's not in D.C. to play nice.

If Oklahoma can do it, surely your state can.

Well, I'm here in your neighboring state of Ohio. You think politics suck for you? We've got the GOP who have all but destroyed this state with tax hikes. Our governor was indicted on ethics violations and didn't have the decency to step down. Bob Ney was just pleaded guilty for his dealings with Abramoff so the GOP isn't very popular here.

We do have a genuine conservative running for governor, J. Kenneth Blackwell, but, if the polls are correct, people who think like you in my state, want to punish the GOP and elect Ted Strickland, a man who will raise taxes even more most likely to pay for his "pie-in-the-sky" programs and (as evidenced in how he ran his own campaign office some years ago and his vote in the House in 1999) most likely be soft on sexual predators!

Ken Blackwell has been Ohio's son for years, devoting his life to public office and doing Ohio some good. Again, if the polls are right, he may not even save Ohio because of stupid idiots not wanting to make the distintion that he is NOT Bob Taft! He could be punished because of the very person whose policies he campaigned AGAINST! This is what happens when those who want to "punish" the GOP get so myopic, that all they see is "GOP" AND IT MUST BE SPANKED!

So, excuse me if I don't jump on this bandwagon of "punishing the GOP". I MAY get to see this type of "cutting off the nose to spite the face" mess up close and personal in my state.

I don't know where to begin.......

The truth is, that I am angry as hell too! What a lot of pundits are missing, is that there are not one, but two segments of the party base that are PO'd and looking for retribution.

There is the far right single issue bunch, comprised of evangelicals, and border security groups who have slightly differing issues, but all feel like they have been stiff armed by the party. And then there is the larger moderate groups who have been slighted by the die hard conservatives, and called a variety of names, insulted and essentially shoved aside for believes that don;t measure up to the purist's among us.

Yes, we are pissed, but the time to act on these feelings has passed! We had that chance during the primary.

We now need to put these feelings aside, go to the polls and reelect out republican majority, in spite of our disdain and anger.

If we do not, we not have any further chances because regaining power, once lost is a difficult thing to do. The party in power makes it so, and assures incumbent reelection unless by some mathematical unlikelihood, it can take advantage of a major scandal and thus cause the party in power to fail in it's reelection effort.

This is what is happening to us, and the MSM is fully on board to enable the Dems to regain power by stirring contempt and anger in our ranks.

As I said, the time for retribution is over. We now must vote our slate of candidates back into office, such as they are. We then can do more house cleaning in the next primary.

The future of this country is at stake.

Go to the damn poll and vote republican, or you will regret it, and no amount of finger pointing will cure the disease you will have brought to our government.

Glad to see you're working so hard to get rid of Rendell.

What?

Oh, never mind.

Fine, then will you reimburse me for the thousands of dollars I will pay in increased taxes?

"not the least of which was the Senate Race in 2004."

You had a real primary. with real primary voters and all. get over it! Toomey got over it long ago and has endorsed Santorum, like every conservative across the country.

The Leftists are *dying* to see Santorum lose. It would make the leftists so happy to see the social conservative light dim with the loss of key conservative santorum.
"There is probably no one the left would rather see defeated this November than Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

The two-term Republican is a reliable ally of President Bush on matters from Iraq to confirming judges. He is a religious conservative who has spoken out against abortions, gay unions and contraception. He is a liaison to the business community and a consistent vote against environmental regulation. ...
"No one is further to the right in the Senate than Rick Santorum,'' said Ralph Neas, president of the liberal advocacy group People for the American Way. ... "Gays would be thrilled and overjoyed'' at a Santorum loss ... "

The Democrat party, particularly in the state of PA, is filthy, rotten, putrid to the core.

What are you doing to clean *that* up?

Either you want Ted Kennedy and Pelosi to run the Congress next year, or you are against it. .. Staying home or not voting Republican is a great way to cede control of USA to the left.
