Deliver a Spanking

I am your typical Republican "supervoter." .... But I'm seriously considering ending that streak this Nov. 7. ...
I'm also a contrarian -- a conservative with libertarian leanings. Combine all these characteristics, then mix in the aggregate Republican record, allow the ire it has created to rise and bake it for a few years and here's what comes out of the oven:
A party base that's mad as hell and no longer willing to rationalize GOP failures. It's a base whose crust grows darker and thicker -- i.e., angrier -- when prominent conservatives and Republicans -- politicians, pundits, radio talk-show hosts and think tankers sensing impending electoral doom -- pop out of their pumpkins and upbraid the watered-on for complaining about being wet.
....
...Pay no attention to the recidivists behind the curtain who, once every two years or four or six, make grand promises of fealty to conservative and party principles only to repeatedly fail to deliver. ... What's the definition of insanity again? In this case it's constantly returning Republicans to power and having the audacity to expect different results. And what could be more stupid than that?
....
Look, folks, it's time to take a stand. Returning this current crew of Republicans to power will only embolden them to spend more time, not less, off the conservative reservation. This is no time to dance the Rationalization Rumba. It is time for the GOP base to deliver a very big SMACK. It's the only way to start the process of true Republican/conservative reclamation.
Fellow Republicans and conservatives, do what you must on Nov. 7. But I, for one, refuse to yet again enter my polling place, vote for the usual GOP suspects...
It's time for the long-spanked to do some spanking.

To be fair, I think there was/is some frustration which initially was set off by the Miers nomination.
But you are correct. The dems/msm did a great job of focusing our attention on the negatives rather than the positives.
One of the biggest differences between the wars we have won, and those we have lost, has been whether we focused on the wins or the losses.

The Owner of this site posted his warning on the PA. board where these fine folks have taken it over....Where I complained about the language and name calling by BOTH SIDES! No one "took over" the PA Board. You guys couldn't participate in a debate without the name-calling that makes others call names and you get THEM in trouble! You sure are good at telling stories. He warned all of you, including you!
Maybe I should post what YOU posted today against the wish of the Owner? I could post some of what your fine folks have posted about others but I would not soil this board with language like that.

BRILLIANTLY STATED.... please allow me to repost?
The crybabies want our elected officials to act like dictators and MAKE the world adhere to conservative ideals overnight. The reality is this nation is not largely conservative, has a huge number of liberals and another huge middle group that is easily led by rhetoric.
These realities add up to the fact that our government cannot be fully conservative, the best we can hope for is to nudge it in the conservative direction and work hard at converting more individuals to conservative ideas.
What the libertarians and what I believe the easily led conservatives (along with the seminar "conservatives") expect is a government not based in reality and they believe that they can change the reality by punishing those who were elected by their neighbors. In this they are looking at the effect rather than the cause. The cause is the electorate not the elected. If they want change they need to ask themselves what they have done to change their liberal neighbors mind. In other words they need to look in the mirror to see who the guilty party is rather than looking at their TV.

In your case you have stated many times that you vote straight ticket regardless of the candidates positions or voting record, you regularly post comments denigrating thoughtful conservatives and you proudly proclaiming yourself a Bushbot, none of which indicates you are a movement conservative.
I can't speak for the others.

Good morning.
"Maybe if I write in "Braveheart"?"
This election I'm voting for my friend Norm Vroman to be DA again, even though he died a month ago.
Other than a few DemocRAT activist lawyers, everyone I talk to plans to do the same in the sincere belief that he would be a better DA dead than his opponents would be alive.
It's a futile gesture but it sends a message without really do any harm.

Me, I vote for the most conservative candidate that has a chance of winning. Now that's a strategy that has a chance of working! Of course it works a lot better, if it's also applied in every primary.

In your case you have stated many times that you vote straight ticket regardless of the candidates positions or voting recordLink one post where I've ever said that.
you regularly post comments denigrating thoughtful conservatives
You have to THINK about turning this country over to the Democrats?
proudly proclaiming yourself a Bushbot, none of which indicates you are a movement conservative.
No kidding; why don't you tell that to this guy:
To: PeoplesRepublicOfWashington
Just a reminder: This website supports the war against Islamofascism, supports our troops and supports our commander in chief. We are also opposed to giving up seats to the Democrats. And, no, we are not going to impeach the president. If you are going to oppose our efforts you will be asked to leave.
Jim
And to use the term "movement conservative" is laughable; you guys have moved on the dime in fifty years.

To be fair, I think there was/is some frustration which initially was set off by the Miers nomination. Why on Earth would that be frustrating? We won that one!!!
We won by putting a lot of pressure on the President and on Congress, and by having enough Republicans in the Senate to make the pressure count.
