MAGAZINE SHOCK: REPUBLICANS WILL HOLD CONGRESS
Drudge Report ^ | October 21, 2006 | JIM MCTAGUE

JUBILANT DEMOCRATS SHOULD RECONSIDER their order for confetti and noisemakers, BARRON's claims in their next edition. The Democrats, as widely reported, are expecting GOP-weary voters to flock to the polls in two weeks and hand them control of the House for the first time in 12 years -- and perhaps the Senate, as well. Even some Republicans privately confess that they are anticipating the election-day equivalent of Little Big Horn. Pardon our hubris, but we just don't see it.

Our analysis -- based on a race-by-race examination of campaign-finance data -- suggests that the GOP will hang on to both chambers, at least nominally. We expect the Republican majority in the House to fall by eight seats, to 224 of the chamber's 435. At the very worst, our analysis suggests, the party's loss could be as large as 14 seats, leaving a one-seat majority. But that is still a far cry from the 20-seat loss some are predicting. In the Senate, with 100 seats, we see the GOP winding up with 52, down three.

Survivor! The GOP Victory

"Is our method reliable? It certainly has been in the past. Using it in the 2002 and 2004 congressional races, we bucked conventional wisdom and correctly predicted GOP gains both years. Look at House races back to 1972 and you'll find the candidate with the most money has won about 93% of the time. And that's closer to 98% in more recent years, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Polls can be far less reliable. Remember, they all but declared John Kerry president on Election Day 2004."

The House deserves to stay GOP. They've been a great check on those insane clowns infesting the Senate. Doesn't matter if the Senate changes hands, it's ruled by the Rats no matter what the technical status of the "majority."

I'm not greatly concerned about Congress but I do want to see McClintock edge out the Rat for Lt. Gov here in CA (polls show them tied). *That* is the race that I'll be watching.

Assuming we maintain control of Congress, which I do, I can hardly wait to send e-mails to Chrissy Matthews, and Keith Olbermann, in particular. The e-mail will go something like this: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I wish I could send each of them the new Elmo doll which has a laughing fit continuously. Were I rich I'd mail them each one, and Elmo would have a little Pub shirt sewn onto him by me. Would make my day.

The BIG Losers of Election 2006 will be INCUMBENTS .

Since there are more GOP in Congress than DemoCRATS,

Republicans will lose the most seats, yes !

But that does not mean we will lose the majority in the Houses of Congress .

Many Democrat incumbents will lose their seats too .

The truth will be known after election day . .

A Question !

If a congressman or woman decides that he or she does not want to belong to a particular party, while they currently reside in that office- can they join the opposing party, or are they limited to simply going 'Independent' ?

Weeping ?

It was 'lamentation' .

The full quote goes like: The greatest pleasure in life is to vanquish your enemies and chase them before you

to see their loved ones bathed in tears

to steal their wealth

to ride their horses

and to press to your busom, their wives and daughters :-)

The very fact that you answered my reply is good enough
reason for me to think that you are okay.

Most folks wouldn't refer to that as "practicing", though.
Most folks would refer to it as "maneuvers", or some such.

Do you have any experience with the military?

I'm off...nitey nite.
