I'm proud to be able to say that here in Colorado we have to show a photo ID in order to vote at the polls. In my opinion it should be that way everywhere. Anyone who thinks voting is important will be willing to obtain the ID necessary to prove their eligibility.
I also think voting by mail should be discontinued except for the elderly and the handicapped who are physically incapable of getting to the polls, and those whose jobs (such as active-duty military members) require them to be out of their home state at voting time. Implementing such measures would greatly reduce the amount of voter fraud, and would also reduce voting by people who are simply too unmotivated to get to the polls. If they can't be bothered to go to the polls, they probably don't know enough about the issues to vote anyway.
This past May, in the Indiana primaries, the voters all had to show a photo ID.
Not one single voter complained.
Lots of voters had their ID's out before they even walked into the polling place.
I must say I was surprised that no one complained to me.
The only mad voters were the ones who declared themselves democrats and they got a ballot where in every single race only one democrat was running. So they showed up for nothing! LOL
My understanding is that that is not correct. All you need in Colorado is a copy of a utility bill with your name and address on it. I'm sure it's hard to fake those.
When it comes to open borders, illegals, and our political class, don't ever underestimate the capacity and willingness of the latter to use duplicity. Always read the fine print; look for the inevitable loopholes.
Are you assuming it's legal to vote in a different precinct within the state? Some states are large and even if I'm still in-state, I might not be close to home.
