This could be the cause of global warming. The excessive mass of these peeps is affecting the earths rotation causing the warming effect. Not to mention the methane.

know "someone" who is technically overweight at 6' and 208 pounds, but this "someone" is also only around 10% bodyfat with a 33" inch weight, a six pack, and works out 5 days a week. And yes, that's part of the complete inadequacy of BMI. My husband is like this. Walks all day for his job, barely any body fat, and he eats one meal a day. According to BMI he's overweight.

This means that water and carbon are being pulled out of the ground and distributed outward, thereby slowing the earth's rotation. Combined with the implied increase in methane, this will "definitely" contribute to global warming. Dibs on the research grant!

BMI is stupid, I agree.
BMI states that I am a 21.4, considered the middle of the normal weight, when I know that for my body type, I am overweight.
BMI states that my husband is 27.7, considered overweight, when he is cut from muscle head to toe and has the Scottish, stocky build. HMMMMM.

Ugh, I knew that picture would make it on the thread...I just can't imagine how that happens.
Hate to post and leave, but I get on the treadmill about now and don't get off until 4. The kids are napping... :)

Wow! That's hard to believe. Time takes care of this type situation. Visit a retirement community and look around for overweight residents. They don't make it that long.

Pretty much if you don't look like Calista Flockhart, you're fat according to BMI.

If the average weight of people worldwide keeps going up, what will eventually be considered 'normal' BMI? "Normal" BMI will be whatever they want it to be -- I think they just revised the standard for obesity a couple of years ago, and overnight there were millions more obese people!

Hopefully they are evenly placed around the planet so we won't develop a wobble.
