Any Republican who complained about Clinton's marital failures and thinks Newts are no big deal is a hypocrite.

So it's O.K. if we instead complained about Clinton's lying to a judge, a grand jury, suborning perjury, and etc. Or are you suggesting Newt did these things?

Hmmmm. I'm no fan of the Newtster's track record at home, and I don't think a divorcé is someone the GOP ought to run, but . . . how many gals did he rape?

"Any Republican who complained about Clinton's marital failures and thinks Newts are no big deal is a hypocrite."

Any Republican who denigrates Newt's contributions to the country due to his personal marital problems is much worse than a mere hypocrite. Such people are Democrats in Republican clothing.

Most average Conservatives were less concerned with the fact that Clinton had an affair or two (or three, or four, or five) then he had an affair with one of his employees, and then lied about it.

Newt's screwed up personal life does concern me some, but it's not on the same level as Clinton.

That said, Newt's ego is way out of control and he wouldn't ever be able to win nationally. There is no way I'd support him should he run for President and I think he's nuts to think his endorsement would mean all that much.

I didn't complain about Clinton's marital affairs.. my problem was with the lying under oath.

The Clintons evaded and threatened and tried to cover up his sexual issues and the reputation of a young woman staffer was also ruined as well. Newt has had his issues its true but he has covered up nothing, nor has any of his political liabilities been found shot in Fort Marcy park!

So much for hypocrysy!

Allegations of rape and Oval Office sodomy might account for the different points of view.

Newt walked the walk and talked the talk.

He did the stand up thing when he resigned.

unlike clinton.

Now that we KNOW and he has fallen on his sword, we can evuate his qualifications. The measure of a man is his deeds. When Newt had done wrong he then did the correct thing to right the wrong as was appropriate for his station.

However Newt can make a difference, in fact a R majority makes it an even better launch vehicle for him.

(remember the picture of all the elephants at Captiol Hill.)

Ditto. He made a promise to his constituents (I was one) and he broke it. Nothing he says in the future has any bearing with me......
