There is no 'childhood' any more. Wonder what the long term impact is from kids being 'sexualized' so very young?
I believe that parents can be in control of this situation. I buy my children's clothes so they are not sexualized. My husband and I control their TV viewing, movie watching, music listening, we even control which friends they can have and what activities they can attend. It is simple really.

Exactly. We do the same here and so far its working fine. I am disgusted by the slogans on tshirts for little girls. Sometimes I find myself wondering who is dreaming up these things and why. I won't allow my daughter to be pushed into being older then she is. I don't allow her to go to birthday parties at the malls where they dress them up and put makeup on. When I see the mothers with the little girls hair streaked to match their own and the nails done I just can't understand why on earth they have to make their daughters at 5 and 6 into little mini mes.

You can't be with them all hours of the day, especially during school hours. They pick up most of their information there. (unless you home school).
When they get to be teens or pre teens, you no longer have much control over their wardrobe, they will change at school behind your back, at a friends. Kids are sneaky. You will be surprised at what they admit they did behind your back
after they grow up.
Peer pressure is a powerful force.

I sincerely hope you are not the dupes of so many children I use to teach. I watched them suddenly somehow change into their alluring outfits after Mommy and Daddy had let them out of the "taxi" to go to school. The same kids that were slobbering over their older boyfriends in the hallways in an attempt to fulful their fantasies of being desirable like Britney et al. Sorry to burst your infernally naive dreams of your offspring. Just sign me disilusioned former teacher!
