IMHO, they should not allow entry into the country of the people who made the Bush assasination movie, until they submit to questioning. Make them spend a few hours of their time explaining themselves to the Secret Service.
You're kidding, right? You don't think there could be a female version of Hinkley? There have been plenty of whacked out women in history threatening the US. Kathy Boudin of Weatherman fame comes to mind. Or Emma Goldman and her commie friends.
The SS did the right thing. IMO, they should now look into the mother because whoever taught this kid such hatred of the President (without even teaching them that threats against a President are a federal offense) is a menace, if not more.

Agreed. There is hope for this kid, she's only 14 and may outgrow her foolishness. The Secret Service's behavior appears to be out of line on this one.
How do you know they're not serious 'moonbats' until you talk to them. Most, I'm sure, appear to be non-violent.
Girls can blow themselves (and others around them) up just like boys can. Once they question her they have a better idea what kind of nut they are dealing with.
It's the SS job to check her out and that is what they did. They did the right thing.
Because the law requires that every threat be investigated. If you don't like the law then you go to your Congress-critter and tell him that you want the law changed so that the Secret Service will not investigate all threats.
At the same time I'll go to the legislature and have your state laws changed so that the cops are directed to only respond to half the complaints of crimes and accidents.
