I just heard on Fox that Hawaii's governor has declared a state of disaster. WHAT disaster??? Buildings are standing, no report of deaths or widespread injuries. Power is out in places but its expected to be up by morning. For heaven's sake, Buffalo is in worse shape!
There's a lot more damage than we have heard of. I went to the streaming video link above and heard reports of buckled roads and many landslides...all this combined with a serious flood warning from unrelenting rains.
One doctor said he got out of bed during the earthquake and went into his front yard only to see that the entire cliff and all the trees had slid into the ocean! He and his neighbors have to evacuate their homes.
