Bolton exited the meeting with the Chinese Amb., both of them laughing and smiling.

One of the biggest benefits imo is what Arkinsaw noted above:
If a ship starts making its way from North Korea to Iran...we can now stop it and inspect it.
IF NK had planned to sell weapons to our enemies they cant like that development..
I dont care for the UN, but I love Bolton and at least some progress was made to get in Kims face, finally.

It's a reference to Kruschev banging his shoe at the UN while saying, "We will bury you" Yea, THAT worked! /LOL!

We might very well see something like this unfold... Kim ignores the resolution as illegal, a cargo ship with tanks/missile parts destined for Yemen/Iran etc. sets sail. US/Japanese naval vessel attempts to stop and inspect the ship. Warning shot fired after ship fails to stop. NK special forces unit aboard the ship fires an anti-ship missile from the deck. US/Japanese vessel retaliates and sinks the North Korean ship. North Korea declares war.
Sounds good to me. Let's get it on, and free millions of starving, NK slaves.

Good to hear. Laughter & smiles are refreshing! (Especially with the Chinese since they are more circumspect in their manner.)

Agreed. It's the worst news for Kim since, well, since he came to power. Which, by my reckoning, is pretty good news.

That would be breaking the law and will not happen. Who cares, if it's breaking the law. Our "leaders" break the law all the time. ;o) Btw, I know we would never do it, but we should.

Bolton exited the meeting with the Chinese Amb., both of them laughing and smiling. Bolton was telling the Chinese Ambassador how much he looked forward to his favorite drink while recommending it to him as they headed to the local pub.

"Bolton might not be around much longer... and the way things are shaping up... it don't look too good for us either." Do you really think people would put RATS, who don't even have a plan (except to cut tax cuts and take more of everyones paycheck) and give them the responsibility to manage 4 theatres of war? THAT would be National suicide! We may as well surrender to Kim dong il and Islam right now. Quick, phone France and see if they have some spare white flags to lend us!
Save the doom and gloom for the 8th of Nov. Right now you need to point out these things to undecided voters.

North Korea declares war. Declaring war and waging war are two entirely different things.

Under this resolution the US Navy can stop inbound and outbound shipping via North Korea. It sure beats the he!! out of giving tax dollars to them to the tune of $30 billion augmented by nuclear technology to appease them doesn't it?

"North Koreans have conducted some crazy commando raid type operations in South Korea that were obviously suicidal. I bet they can come up with a few. We'll see." You never know. We might even get surprised and see a mass desertion of NK soldiers who realize that war for them IS suicide.

From a BBC report:
In 1956 a British prime minister was on the receiving end. It was a speech to the United Nations by Harold Macmillan that Soviet President Nikita Kruschev famously interrupted by beating his shoe against his desk before shouting to the US representatives We will bury you.
Macmillan, in keeping with his reputation for unflappability, responded to the highly irregular shoe-banging with: I shall have to have that translated!
