Hallo FRiends.
I want to know you that next Sunday (15th October 2006) in Florence will be the Public Commemoration for the Italian Writer Oriana Fallaci. It will take place in a great and important room of the "Old Palace" in the center of the City. It has been organized by the Italian Movie-Director Franco Zeffirelli and the Italian Journalist Enrico Mentana.
Of course I will come. And of course I will report for you.
A lot of people miss Oriana.
God bless you all.
Claudia
Never submit to the yoke of Islam.
Looking forward to your report, my wife and I love Italy.
Could you take a minute or two to educate me on this woman? I know she died recently.
Thanks!
I just visited Florence last year. What a lovely city! My daughter spent 5 months there and would love to return. And what a feisty lady! She deserves this.
Hooray! It's Claudia! Good to see you again!
Orianna Fallaci was a long time journalist who, along with her father, was a resistance fighter during the second world war. She was a major critic of Arafat - long before any other writer recognized his evil - and went on to be a major critic of Islam, particularly in her own town of Florence. She went on trial for this stance.
She wrote two or three books after 9/11 - they're available on Amazon. I really recommend you buy them!!! She was an terrific writer and an incredibly brave lady. Sleep in peace, Orianna!
Always good to see you on FR, Claudia. Keep us informed!
Start here, but be sure and actually read The Rage and the Pride as well as The Force of Reason
Orianna Fallaci deserves the respect, and homage, of all decent people in the world. May she rest in peace!
She was a truly heroic woman.
Thanks for attending. She was a brave woman and a "truthteller".
I fell in love with this woman through the pages of her books. I continue to love her now that she has gone on.
May she rest in peace, and may her enemies continue to fear her.
I miss her, like you a miss a relative you see rarely but know is there and know will appear every few years. Her last few books took my breath away.
I have read that Ms. Fallaci was not much on religion of any kind. Me either, as far as religion goes - which is a man made nightmare in most cases. However, I do believe that the spirit of Jesus Christ is the only real bulwark we have that can stand up against the satanic religion of overbearing domination. In fact, scripture states that when the enemy comes in like a flood, He will throw up a standard against him. Christ said that his yoke was easy, his burden was light. It is not the yoke of bondage to law, or of overbearing, forceful conversion and domination. In fact, I can find no place where Christ demanded that anyone bow down and worship him. He loved the Father in heaven, and wanted everyone to know and love Him, too. Christ certainly did not advocate spreading his gospel of peace by the sword! Anyplace where the extremist Mohammedanists shed the blood of Christ's martyrs, that blood will only spread more resistance and the awful wrath of the one true God on their heads.
Thank you for the precious information Claudia, I'll try to be there too! (if it was not for Zeffirelli no commemoration would be done).
Ciao, "an italian",
I just discovered this thread. I want to know -- what happened? Was the street dedicated to Orianna Fallaci?
I remember your posts from last summer. Please keep in touch with us at FR.
Tanti auguri per l'anno nuovo!
