The man was arrested in record time yesterday evening yesterday evening when he was about to take a train at the central Roman train station. The Roman flying squad agents, under the commando of Alberto Intini, identified the young man with the help of several witnesses present in the "Supper Club" in Via De Nari, near Piazza Navona.

According to the victim, a 20 year old student of antique art with the Monteverde Temple University since one month, she met the man near the toilet, where he tried to pick her up but she refused his advances. She then was pushed inside the toilet room where he abused of her. After that the French football player spent some more time in the club.

The friends of the American girl realised that there was something wrong and asked him for explanations which he answered by beating up one of the friends and then went away. The victim confessed what had happened to her friends and was taken to the emergency unit of the Santo Spirito hospital, where she reported what happened to the police.

The agents of the fourth section, under the commando of Dania Manti, identified the aggressor also thanks to the declarations made by an employee of the club. On that evening there had been a black music party and the employee told the police who had invited the football player. Garra D'Envele was recognised on a photograph by the victim as well as by her friends.

He admitted to have been at the party of the Supper Club and to have tried to approach the girl but he denied to have raped her. The man now is in the Roman Regina Coeli prison charged with sexual violence, the arrest warrant was ordered by public prosecutor Marcello Cascini; the football player is waiting to be heard by the preliminary investigation judge

Soccer has always been perceived as vaguely un-American: It's too low-scoring, there's too much cooperation, the players are too small and too Euro, it looks bad on television.
