The FReeper Canteen is asking all FReepers to please keep 68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub in your prayers.
He has suffered a massive stroke and heart attack.
We know that many of you will have questions, but as of right now we don't have any further information.
Thank you
Always, Welcome Home, TGYC.
Tonk,
On March 17th The anti war types are going to begin a PROTEST march at the wall.
I just thought you might want to know how bold they've gotten since you've been ill.
I'm going because I know you won't be able to make it.
Another Prayer BTTT...
Sunday BTTT...
BUMP!
Prayer and a bump
Prayers continuing
Amen!
Prayer *BUMP*
You'll have to keep us posted as to how it goes on the 17th.
Was just looking for an update on Tonk (he is a coastie living south of me when he was well).
Just woke up from a not so good dream about Tonk hoping it was just a bad dream......
I was thinking about him a couple of weeks ago as we had a few moderate quakes off shore a couple of hundred miles west of his coast home.
I have followed the prayer thread here enough to know what is going on and choices he has made.
Tonk, hang in there ol buddy. I miss our exchanges over Kerry. Looking forward to reassembling them.
Best regards,
sjb
Hoping it was only a bad dream. Nice neck of the woods up there.
Yes.
Worse winter in the 20yrs I have lived here though weather and virus wise.
I love the rainy coast but this cold cold winter has me moaning and groaning for a bit of warm sun.
Unlike others we are homebound so can't take a vacation to a warmer/sunny climate to get some respite.
Suppose to drop down to cold and snow in the range tonight and my raging sinus headaches is usually a good sign of the cold to come.
Last winter was rough too but boy did the gardens bloom and best vegie/fruit crop one could dream of. Like to see that again for all the winter blues we have.
Prayers up for Tonk. I respect his choices and hope he is well as can be expected.
"I like your thoughts about praying for happiness, Pinz. I think that's perfect. "
Hi LA Enchiladita..
I just saw the Tonk thread passing by..so I thought I would drop in and say an "I'm thinking of you Tonk!"...
And I saw your post to me ....I am sorry I didn't respond sooner..there are 2 of us mosby (with the letter "O") and me....I am M0sby (with a ZERO)..kinda silly..it's a long story...involves my cat :-)
I just wanted to say, "Hi!" to you!
Prayers and thoughts for Tonk...for peace and HAPPY!
Praying for HAPPY...
We love you Mr. Tonk ...we miss you..and no matter where you are we are thinking of you.
Your FReeper FRiend,
M0sby
Hi to you too, M0sby (did I do that right?), as I make one last sweep of the forum before I sleep. Yes, I realized I mistyped your FReeper name earlier.
It is good to see you here, thinking fondly of Mr. Tonkin, our very missed FRiend.
As for your cat's involvement, no surprise there, as the internet seems genuinely fascinated with felines, especially here at FR, needless to say.
Did you know that Mr. Tonkin has at least 6-8 kitties that he DEARLY loves? He always posted the cutest kitty pictures to the ladies in the Canteen, even kitty snowglobes.
*Sigh*
Cold cold winters can be taxing. Hang in there and hopefully you will have bushels full of harvest in the very near future.
Joining you in prayers for Tonk being as well as can be expected.
Yep...I did know he loved the kitties...I was so glad to know that HE KNEW someone would be taking care of them..
He posted several cute pictures to me when my hubby was deployed...man, how THANKFUL I was to the Canteen!
I live up here in good 'ole liberal Seattle..so getting support from FR was about the only place I GOT SUPPORT!
LOL!
And HE was first in line..
He even helped me figure out a few military benefits questions that I had (I think I supp. life insurance with no war clause was one)..I was able then to pass the info on to OTHER military families...
He has taught me much..supported me much...
I miss him..
(Our kitty was a very skittish and gray little thing..hence her name Mosby..the GRAY GHOST!)
