ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft involved was a a private plane, flying under visual flight rules on a cloudy afternoon.
The building, at 524 East 72nd Street in Manhattan, is a condominium known as the Belaire. It is 50 stories tall, a red brick building on a major cross street. A records search shows it was built in 1986.
The accident happened at 2:45 PM, Eastern Time."

NEW YORK (CNN) -
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The building is very close to the East River. There was no word on casualties as firefighters battled the flames that shot up from several windows in the middle of the building. The Federal Aviation Administration has said a "general aviation" aircraft had hit the building.
A North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) spokesperson, which monitors air traffic, told CNN that it had not been tracking the aircraft."
