it SOUNDS like the SELF-righteous NONSENSE spewed out by the PUBLISHER of the "THE LIBERATOR", who CLAIMED to be an "abolitionist", while being "up to his ears" IN the slave trade. he was NOT the only hypocrite. the Managing Editor of the NY Times owned stock in several companies that bought/sold/transported slaves, while at the same time ranting about "the evils of slavery"!

In this case it was spouted by that paragon of southern virtue, Robert E. Lee.

Uh huh. Right. I don't suppose you're able to present the slightest bit of proof of this, are you? Or is another one that we're supposed to just swallow whole because you say so?
You just can't accept the idea that someone could possibly be anti-slavery out of a true moral concern, can you? Your heart and your mind are so twisted against anything that might cast the south into a bad light that all you can do is spout incredible lies to try to discredit them. Next youl'll probably tell us that John Brown was the biggest slaveowner in New England and Harriet Beecher Stowe personally captained slave ships. It's hard to decide if you know what you're doing and are morally responsible for your lies, or if it's some sort of pathology that you should get treatment for.
