SEOUL, South Korea (AP) Yonhap news agency reports that a government official says there are "signs" of a North Korean nuclear test.
just BELOW the usgs threshold for reporting
As a 'trip-wire'. Anyone attacking our troops is attacking the USA.
Fox is quoting the US Geological Survey.....
Was it ever confirmed what was on the ship stopped by Cyprus a week ago (going from NK to Iran)?
Are you kidding me? Did CNN say this? They DO NOT want to go there. Maddy and Birr Krington's meddling in the 90's caused this, not Bush.
they will or will made to in the gaggle
You can probably rest easy.
According to reports over the past couple of weeks the test was most likely conducted deep underground in a mine shaft.
There would me little radioactive fall-out from this type of test.
The seismic networks designed to detect undeground nuke tests are fairly sophisticated and specialized, and their data is not public on the web.
The USGS isn't in the business of detecting nuclear tests in particular, and it's not particularly meaningful that they don't show this on their website.
FNC is simply being their usual morons if they're eagerly expecting the USGS website to show the test.
I don't think nukes show up very large on seismic reports. That was one of the issues during the Soviet era. I think we were negotiating with them at one time to put local seismic guages inside the USSR because we couldn't detect tests from outside.
Thanks. I am watching football and cannot change the channel until 'his' game is over.
DU already blaming Bush for cutting off talks, at least Albright & Carter talked to them.
DU'ers also worried this will blow away the Foley story.
Kim will open the bidding in the next month. He is going to sell them for millions of dollars to terrorist organizations.
yes, just as you are ... Tiger and I were pretty much on target.
The Clinton Legacy - the gift that keeps on giving.
LOL Go Steelers!!
Like I said, the event you're seeing is a magnitude 6.2 quake in Tonga that occured this afternoon.

Something happened!"
Check out the readings for areas of China and the area of Korea. If I am reading this correctly, nearly identical readings at the same time.
