"Not much new here... counting the days as always. While the exact date probably has been determined, that info is generally not announced until very shortly before departure. This has to do with Operational Security (opsec), AKA loose lips sink ships. It's more important for those actually in Iraq, but we play by the same rules. As of now they have announced a 6 day window spanning Nov. *th - *th during which we will leave. I won't be at all surprised if you find out when we fly in from the family group before I find out. In any case, your e-mail (old one i presume) is still on file to be used for this purpose. At least they say it is. I didn't give it to them... maybe you did?
"I don't really know what will be going on at the fly-in. It's safe to say it will go a LOT like the fly out... just backwards... touching speeches & a strictly scheduled "social period". & then Katie will come down for the pickup from McCoy, whenever that is. Prolly within a week. I hope so anyway. I plan to have the phone re-activated by the time we land in Bangor or Atlanta or wherever.
"The welcome home packer lunch sounds very good. I'm thinking just before or just after Thanksgiving.. right around then. Speaking of thanksgiving, I did ask Katie if she wanted to come but she hasn't given a definitive answer yet. Wheel see.
