Russia Steps Up Sanctions (& deportations) Against Georgia

More than 100 people are deported, and schools are told to look for suspect surnames.

MOSCOW — Russia deported more than 100 ethnic Georgians accused of entering the country illegally and ordered some Moscow schools to compile lists of children with Georgian surnames to detect illegal residents, officials said Friday. Russia and its fellow former Soviet republic have been locked in a bitter dispute since Georgia arrested four Russian officers last week on charges of spying. Despite their release, Moscow has imposed a variety of sanctions on Georgia.

Sound's like Nazi 'selections'.

Putin's retaliatory moves -- his imposition of transport and postal sanctions amounting to an economic blockade of Georgia, the 'former' Soviet republic -- have only made a dangerous situation worse.

Once again Putin is clearly demonstrating his true nature for absolute dictatorial control, using proven tyrannical KGB methods against Georgians and 'anyone else who gets out of line'.

No, it looks, sounds and acts like a model example for our own INS to follow.

Very interesting how Putin is very quick on the trigger to impose sanctions against Georgia, but can find excuse after excuse for not imposing sanctions on Iran.

What Putin said about immigrants to Russia on September 9th of this year

"immigration was nothing new for Russia. The problems caused were less acute than in the west because Russia was a multi-ethnic and multi-religious country. Immigrants from the states of the former Soviet Union (who dominate Russia’s inflows) were not foreign to Russia and spoke Russian, said Mr Putin.

“Many immigrants come to western countries and there are arguments. In our case people have not yet arrived and they are already assimilated… Of course we should take care of the interests of the indigenous people and we do.”

"No, it looks, sounds and acts like a model example for our own INS to follow."

On the surface I would agree relating to our own run-a-way illegal alien dilemma, however this is a whole different matter with Putin brutally bullying 'former' Soviet bloc nations demanding to be free of the Kremlin's grasp & new version of a ruthless Iron Curtain.

The current dangerous situation is being triggered by Putin's uncontrolled thirst for total control over energy resources in independent countries where he and his KGB goons do not belong.

Putin is so against any meaningful sanctions regarding jihadists exporting OPEC Iran (never mind overthrow his Iranian régime cash cows), while on the other hand Putin's true tyrannical colours are being ever so exemplified in nations above anti-Western Iran.

From last January 24th, 2006:

Georgians blame 'GasPutin' for crisis

A quote from the article:

============================

"We've received numerous threats by Russian politicians and officials at different levels to punish us for basically for not giving them pipelines," Mr Saakashvili said."

============================

More....

============================

'Like slaves'

"But many in Georgia - like 52-year-old Tamara Grishashvili - seem to agree with President Saakashvili.

"We've been nice to them for many years, and in response we've been always treated like slaves. So enough kneeling down in front of Russia, let's say what we think about them and not worry about it," Mrs Grishashvili said."

And that is why Russia hates him so much. He stands up to them and is open to the world about their threats and attempts at intimidation.

As for the rest of the Georgians, I can personally speak for many in saying they just wish Russia would go away. I was there last year for their Independence Day, and while the Georgians are an exceptionally cordial and civil people, they did laugh at my comments about Russia.

By the way, that was very hard on them, the coldest winter in many years in Georgia. They are now apparently already buying kerosene heaters expecting another very cold winter again.

I have pics from a friend in Tbilisi of his place last Jan and if I knew how to get them from my email to here I would post them.

I thought this took some chutzpah.

It's a school for Russian children In Tbilisi, but they have banned not only all the Georgian children, but the Georgian teachers as well.

PS. And you see here what I have been trying to share about these lovely people.

"The fact is shocking. It is an expression of racism. I want to say that I pity the people who made this decision," Education Minister Kakha Lomaia declared.

This is very typical of the civility you find in Georgia.

Thanks for that update from Georgia.

Putin is attempting to the the world's all controlling energy Czar and the independent country of Georgia is one of his main targets.

With winter approaching, Georgian's all too cognizant of Putin's history of energy blackmail are attempting to inform the world they will require outside assistance to keep warm this winter.

The White House needs to take a firm stand against tyrant Putin.
