Nice to get away from the terrestrial concerns for a bit with stuff like this.

I know what you mean.

The idiocy and blatant partisanship of the US media covering (Shilling?) stuff in DC, plus the Amish-story, has made for a bummer week.

"Is that water in the crater? Looks like it to me."
Looks more like tripe to me! (3rd pic)

It's amazing to think that if one were standing next to the rover, no matter how far he could see or travel, he would not encounter a single living thing. No animals, no plants; nothing living on the surface of the planet. You can bet he'd be calling the rover "Rover".

"Rooooooverrrrrrrrrrrr!"

I thought these rovers were only supposed to last 3 months....wow.

This thing has lasted longer than my father's Crown Victoria.

The flat feature in the bottom of the crater is very common on Mars. It looks like water, but it is dust.

Huh, another government program that refuses to die.

Yeah, kind of like welfare in America!

Personally, I think this is pretty exciting, and it's money well spent.

What does this thing run on?

I thought the mission was only 3 months too!

Solar, mini nuke or battery?

It looks like there is a nice ramp that will lead to the crater floor. Love to see what those crazed, dried mud looking features are in there.

It's battery recharged by solar.

God got some glue on his finger when he was building the planet, and it left a fingerprint on the surface.

Hey, it happened to me when I was building a plastic model as a kid!
