honestly, this 'news' smells. anyone who read those messages would have a hard time finding them to have been a 'prank' even if from an admittedly (now) gay man.
People who think this affair helps the republicans in any way, or who believe this 'news' like gospel, are missing a big point - no one is going to find the IM's a favorable item for republicans, and the Freeh 'investigation' will drag out beyond the election.
As you note, he resigned IMMEDIATELY, meaning there is surely a heck of a lot of fire somewhere for this much smoke.
And people who think this doesn't serious hurt the Democrat attack machine are kidding themselves. People get so fixated on what the Junk media is doing they forget we got our OWN media now. This is not going away. The Bloggs and Talk Radio, who talk to as many people if not more then the Junk Media, are going to drive this JUST like they did the Bush National Guard fraud.
I agree with much of what you say here...Foley is still a creep who engaged in reprehensible behavior, regardless. But, this does change some of the dynamics in this case. Instead of a helpless child who was being prayed upon by Foley, we may have a young 18-year old adult who was the actual instigator in this event. While I by no means consider Foley a victim, it appears the so-called "child" may not be a victim, either.
