CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

You are wise indeed. I already can see it happening.
I agree that this guy probably needed to say something that would let him deny he is gay. And it turns out it was a "conservative" staffer. So the media has tomorrow's headline: "Mark Foley Victim of Conservative Gay Baiting: Career Destroyed by Homophobia and Teenagers' Cruelty." The story now will be how the evil conservative right wing (perhaps even Rove) destroyed the life of this upstanding gay Republican.
You only forgot motive. I'll add one. In order to get the Woodward book out of the news :)
Fake in that the sense of a police informant 'entrapping' a suspect. Foley did type the words, but was doing so as a result of encouragement from the intern. All the IM's have not been revealed yet, so we do not know if the intern sent a previous 'suggestive' IM or two to Foley to make him think he was gay and/or interested in Foley
No. In fact, he resigned over the IMs, and simply called it a "smear campaign" after the initial emails.
Are you series? You don't no what that meens?
They will certainly try that spin.
Howdy, I posted a reply from a poster, I kind of left out it was Flips post to me LOL. How you doing.
how did the IM logs get into the hands of the DNC operatives? that doesn't just magically happen on its own.
that will work *L*
I've a sneaking suspicion that there's still a bit of lying in that. I think the page(s) used Foley machine to type out the stuff, not Foley himself. Just saying.
Or it could be Republicans going after Hassert and getting rid of a gay 'pubbie too.
The ultimate coup d'état.
OK, now this just doesn't make any sense. Foley was "goaded" into making these comments? Well, y'know, I'm sorry, I don't think there's any way that I, as a middle-aged heterosexual male, could be "goaded" into saying some of the stuff that Foley texted. No way, no how. Now, if these pages knew Foley was cruising for young page tail and decided to, uh, "yank his chain" (so to speak) a little bit? I can see that.
Yeah, the Rats are overreaching and this is probably going to blow up in their faces unless the news media can keep a lid on it and manipulate the coverage that gets out to the sheeple--which they can do, but not as well as they used to thanks to places like this. But let's not lose sight of the fact that, at the center of this all, there's still a 50+-year-old Congresscritter that was cruising for 16-19-year-old young male page tail. We can segment that away from the political aspect of it all.

"Foley should of just married his 16 year old cousin like ELVIS....he'd be revered!!!"
Naa! He should have moved to Ma in the district with Barney Frank, came out of the closet and said, "I'm a new democrat homosexual who really likes sex with teenagers. He would have won in a landslide.!"
There are NO allegations whatsoever that Foley had sex with any current or former pages! Stop making reckless charges that you don't know to be true!
There were other motives to all this!
I've always liked Drudge, but I've also read him long enough to know that caution is not his strong suit.
I guess this explains why Hastert was blaming Democratic operatives and ABC News.
LOL....I concur.
I almost forgot about that Kerry "love affair". I broke that story to some classmates, only to look foolish at the next class.
