CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.

The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.

The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.

The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

"...Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter...."

Proving yet again how selfish these little jerks are....they didn't have any fears about taking part in destroying someone elses career. They only fear getting caught.

Chalk up another one in the "Thanks yet again, for your 'leadership' Bill Clinton" column!

Ok something stinks about this Vivyan story, first off how did Foley find this guys SN if the guy never gave it to Foley? Back then it would have even been harder to do I would imagine, I mean this Vivyan guy only worked in the cloatroom and never actually met Foley. So how did Foley find soo much out about this guy and get his email/sn? Did anyone who had an AOL email automatically have instant message back then?

Now you know why he hired a lawyer.

You betcha. Timmy McVeigh's. I hope he ends up with a similar fate. Sorry, but you dont screw with a man's life or a national congressional campaign without severe repercussions. Enough is enough. These people really need to do some hard time- I mean these sick Democratic "pranksters" (from the tire slashers to the document forgery creeps.)

My concern is that the democrats keep saying "children" and these kids are not children.?

For Dems, "child" is a very fluid concept! Surely you've seen references to 14-year-old "women" whose right to an abortion should not be infringed. And the wailing about "children" killed by guns -- when a huge proportion of them are teen-aged drug dealers and gang members.

Do you know anything else about Chris Wilson's company? What other clients he has?

I can;t get over his quote that he said "Chip Englander, 25, is one of the best" and then couldn't name ONE of his campaigns!!! Istook needs to be told he is being taken for a SUCKER!!!

Nancy Pelosi is likely blocking a real investigation of the matter because you will likely find Barney Frank and any other homosexuals in the House

Exactly! The logical response to the Foley matter would be "How much of this going on?", not veering off to go after Hastert.

From the looks of Istook at the press conference, I would say he knows he has been had. He has not gotten any traction since starting his run for Governor a year ago which makes me wonder.

Wilson is a dirty trickster and has been in every campaign he has been involved with. He is helping out Mitt Romney's campaign and also was doing Pence. He arranged for 'so-called endorsements in the primary for the Istook website. Some of them made no sense so I contacted the people and they had never endorsed Istook and Wilson/Englander wouldn't remove them from the site even though they didn't endorse them. He had Pence from IN endorse in the primary and we find out that Wilson is working his campaign.

Wilson loves push polls and did them in the primary the day before the election against two of our women candidates running for the Congressional seat that Istook gave up.

"Chris Wilson, of Wilson Research Strategies,"

Could this guy be the source of the "internal poll" that Fox news is flogging? The results of which have been given to them by an unidentified GOP source.......

I started using AOL in 1998 and had to download it as IM didn't come automatically with the AOL account -- it was an added feature you could download.

This guy is lying IMO!

Very likely! He did a phoney poll here in the primary that one of the Istook staffers outed when she got mad at me for being on the phone after walking out her tirade against another Governor's candidate. Found out that Wilson's 'statewide' poll was phoney because they only polled in the 5th district in heavily Republican precincts to show Istook winning handily against Sullivan and the Dem Henry.

I was on the phone to the Sullivan campaign when she went off and I got her to admit that it was a phoney poll. Since then I have learned from other sources that Wilson is nothing by a dirty political campaign consultant. No one I know trusts him. He gives consultants a bad name and hopefully this will tank him too.

Yep, that's a completely different set of IMs, than the ones I read. Since there are, apparently, 50 or so different sets, it's not surprising that you and I encountered different ones.

According to the Wikipedia article on AIM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AOL_Instant_Messenger), AIM was first released in October 1997.

I don't know how many people were using AIM in 1998, but prior to October 1997 nobody was.

According to the Wikipedia article on ICQ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icq), ICQ was first released in November of 1996.

Somebody could have been using ICQ in 1997, but ICQ was the realm of geeks. AIM's following was more among the general population.

I mean how likely is it that Foley happends to find out info on a Page who has been out of the Page program for months and then happends to find the guys email, and the guy just happends to have AOL in 1997. Then to top it off, how likely would it be for Foley to use this new tech to lure young men? It all just STINKs.

Foley wasn't KNOWN to be gay, remember.

No...I won't accept that.

Don't try to tell me that NOBODY of significance on The Hill knew about his homosexuality.

That's ludicrous on its face.
