Blanket statements as such should always have some kind of verification attached to them. Otherwise it's just a blanket statement that makes no sense. You can speak for your situation but not for others.

Okay, you figure it out: I'm employed in the fourth largest school system in the nation. Maybe I don't speak for Podunk, USA but I think my situation is indicative of the majority of urban schools. I'm a member of the Republican Action Committee inside my union. The numbers are there, Dems outnumber 'Pubbies well in excess of two to one. That's just the union. Not all teachers are union members. In the seventeen years I've taught in five different schools and at countless seminars (one of which saw me banned from future events for a statement that was pro Second Amendment) I've run into about 20 seriously conservative individuals.
