One of the worst ideas I've ever heard -- muddies the waters when the inner city kids claim that they need guns in the classroom just as much for self defense. And the first time a teacher shoots back; can you imagine the legal wrangling on that one?

It is legal for anyone with a license to carry in at least three states: Utah, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, and possibly California. So if teachers are in the habit of going berserk and shooting kids with guns, we would have heard about it by now in those states.
Your objections are the same as those raised by by those who are opposed in principle to the right-to-carry.

It does not muddy any water. There's a HUGE difference between a trained and licensed adult and a gang-banger from the hood!! An armed and trained teacher/administrator shooting back will save many lives.

How many of the students are old enough to legally own a firearm?
