Could be there are other IM's showing underage recipients?
Could be he was very embarrased that he was IM'ing during a House vote?

I agree. Don't jump to conclusions. Didn't Foley ask the kid something about his birthday? If so, Mr. F was very careful to be sure he was operating within the law. He, of course, helped to write the law, didn't he? Ugh.
I think having cybersex during an important house vote would be enough to make me resign. The guy does have some serious problems controlling his sexual desires, but it appears that given what we know now, he isn't a criminal. I understand your concern though that we might be counting our chickens a little early.
He just became unelectable with the revelation so perhaps he did one for the party. maybe not. However, closeted people they have been known to do a bunch of other stuff and maybe he needed to run away and hide?
