Actually in the eyes of DC law 16 is not a minor(16 is the age of consent). I don't like that but that's a fact, also was foley as barney frank have a house of prostitution in his residence. And guess which one is out of Congress, while the other holds power and prestige in the democrat party(the answer is barney frank).

Sure - the point is that even if 16 is legal, most people realize that a 50+ year old congressman hitting on a 16-year-old page is morally wrong. People have less issues with a person having consensual sex with real adults. And of course, Frank's constiutency is more forgiving of those types of things.

I don't think most people consider sex with an adult the same thing as sex with a 16-year-old. When we compare Foley to people such as Clinton or Frank for their sexual behavior, it just makes us look like worse moral relativists than the democrats who we accuse of doing the same.

If you really think conservatives/Republicans are responding to this the same way Democrats reacted to the Clinton/Lewinsky episode, just ask yourself if anyone with a (D) after their name would even dream of taking this kind of approach.
