Added: if you use trillian, all three of those IM services can be 'logged' on the user's computer if the save chat log option is not disabled.

The companies themselves don;t, however one person or the other can choose to log messages. Unless there was a specific keylogger installed on Foley's computer by say a democrat operative then we have omething akin to Whitewater.
