Foley voted with the Donkeys on abortion and gay issues.

He was not, and never claimed to be, a "family values" candidate.

The Republicans have a "big tent" policy that permits people of diverse opinions on these matters to enjoy the support of the party in contests against the Donkeys.

You need look no further than Connecticut to see that the Donkeys have no such "big tent" policy, but are rather dominated by doctrinaire ideologues who purify the party by eating their own. True Stalinists are they.

Didja maybe consider that that didn't work out very well in this case?

Sure, Foley's gay, pro-gay rights, pro-abortion, but he gives us another vote in Congress!
