New Foley Instant Messages; Had Internet Sex While Awaiting House Vote October 03, 2006 1:22 PM
Brian Ross and Maddy Sauer Report:
Former Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) interrupted a vote on the floor of the House in 2003 to engage in Internet sex with a high school student who had served as a congressional page, according to new Internet instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.
ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.
This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp.

so... it may not have been a "yea"?
And Clinton was eating pizza and having Monica engage in oral sex, on him, whilst he was talking to a Congresscritter...ABOUT MILITARY ACTION, but that doesn't count?
Nope.
Really ? Granted, I only read the excerpted quotes posted above in this particular article but that sounds like silly, immature talk .... Is that what they're calling "Internet Sex"?
I'm thinking.....I wonder if someone installed a keylogger on his computers? It can be done without him even knowing it.
They already have.
Who was it Clinton talked with on the phone with about a vote while he and Monica were snapping thongs in the Oval ? Wasn't it Sonny Montgomery ?
According to their laws, 16 is an adult in D.C. Most of my friends lost their virginity before age 16. Today it is probably more like 14. Yes MArk Foley is one sick faggot. Yes both of these creeps are just gross. But no laws were broken as far as I know, and certainly nothing was done that Speaker Hastert could have or should have known about.
I am amazed at the number of MEN who are commenting on this scandal in a hysterical, hand-wringing, manner.
The confusion between the e-mails and the IM's is being pushed by both the Rats and the MSM.
To be clear, I am not condoning what Foley did nor am I given to conspiracy theories. Occam's Razor and all. But, there is always a point in these scandals where the truth takes a back seat to reality, just trying to be diligent in figuring out where that point is. Since I haven't heard someone blame it on Bush yet, I assume the truth is still "evolving", if you will. That anyone could create these IM logs creates a great opportunity for mischief in trying to expand the scope to include other pubs..
Personally, I think this degrades the institution in general, but likely won't effect what a voter does when the curtain is pulled.
Thanks to all for digging through all the hype and geting to the truth!
FYI - post 492 is considered simply a "less graphic" excerpt.
who is confused? I thought the original email chain was plenty enough to get worried about.
Exactly! And what took ABC so long to confront Foley is what I would like to know. Say one thing for the guy -- he resigned unlike Clinton and the other slime from the Dims that even when caught get praised. The Dims have an impeached judge on their side of the aisle, and all I heard were praises when the impeached judge became a member of the House. There should be a law if you are impeached, you cannot serve in any other branch of Government.
Foley can't control himself with the booze, he can't control himself from hitting on young male pages, he can't control himself from engaging in porno web chat. But yet foolish FReepers here want to believe he didn't actually bugger the boys, with all those dinners he brags about taking them on, or private meeting, office visits, luncheons, stopovers? Yep, suddenly he mustered superhuman self-control. He merely wanted to have some silly banter about pulling out teen peckers.
I think it's shilling for the Rats. Even the sleepers have climbed out of their gopher holes to take at shot at the GOP.
They're going to be mighty disappointed come November. Trolling for votes is not effective campaigning.
Email "chain"? What "chain"?
Two newspapers, at least two, in FL, and the FBI had looked at the content and saw nothing there either to investigate further or to publish. The parents specifically asked that nothing be done other than ask Foley not to send personal email messages anymore to their son. This was done.
Hastert has said repeatedly that all he knew was not even the wording of the emails because the parents did not share the wording. He was told that Foley asked the kid how did he survive Hurricane Katrina and asked him if he was ok. Only much later did Hastert even get to read the content and find out that Foley asked for a picture from the kid.
Something tells me you don't want to know the facts, though. (Not you, Miss Marple)
Yes, of course, it is sleezy and disgusting behavior. The "exchange" sounds like it might be 2 teenage boys rather than one 16 yr old and a 40 yr old man but is it a crime to talk like that on the internet ?
Isn't that the truth! They whine and plant their feet and refuse to leave. The House dems gave Barney Frank 3 standing ovations in the House Chamber when he confessed.
