What great news....not just the 100% cancer-free stuff...but that Dr. Roach is going to treat this the way you described.
You should be very proud of yourself for not giving into the other doctor. So many people are intimidated by their physicians...and may end up in worse shape.
I don't mean to get personal...but you mentioned the possibility that without knowing the cause of why your cancer returned after 8 years...there is a possibility of your immune system being temorarily depressed enough..or something like that...
Did the doctor give you any other instructions..other than continuing the anti-seizure meds?? Did he suggest any type of eating or exercize program or vitamins or something to fight off that possibly happening again??
I know I might be prying, but I was just wondering if he advocates being more pro-active in fighting the return...or if it is just a matter of prayer and luck.
I am glad you are able to go off the steroids...those can make you feel yucky....but, did you take any other chemo therapy??
You do not have to answer any of these questions..I will understand if you don't.
BUT, remember, my friend, that my thoughts are with you always and I pray for you all of the time.

That is VERY good news! Perhaps you could get yourself on a program of nutritional supplements designed to boost your immune system to help prevent any future occurences.
