Bump to the top for our troops!!!
When seeing the USO honoring some of our heroes yesterday, I thought that this organization is due some recognition.
Perhaps that has been in the recent past and I just missed it?
If not, hope someone will consider doing this.
Can remember as a young Airmen in Japan in 63 (WOW, 43 years ago?) when me and some friends used to frequent the USO on a weekly basis--in between our other less than "wholesome haunts"--and can remember to this day, how well they treated us, especially on Sunday, which we rarely missed.
Just a thought and suggestion.

READ: Ephesians 4:11-16
Jesus increased in wisdom and stature. Luke 2:52
"Can you measure me today?" Caleb, our paperboy, asked.
It was not the first time he had made that request. A few years ago I had mentioned to him how tall he was getting. Since then, we've often measured his height on the siding of our house. After all this time, he still wants me to measure him.
Measurements can be indicators of growth. And it's a good idea to measure our spiritual growth. For instance: Do I spend time reading God's Word and talking with Him each day? Do I look forward to fellowshiping with the Lord? What "fruit of the Spirit" is apparent in my life? Do I talk about Jesus with people who don't know Him? How am I using my spiritual gift or gifts? Do I have a generous and giving spirit? How much better do I know God today than I did a year ago? These questions are good indicators of spiritual growth.
A child seems to grow up all of a sudden, but it's actually a continual process. Just as Jesus grew in both wisdom and stature, we as believers are to continue to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). We are no longer to be children, but to "grow up in all things into Him who is the headChrist" (Eph. 4:14-15). Have you measured yourself lately?

Our Family would like to thank all of you here on the canteen for what you do.
The week past has been a great week and we thank all of you for your prayers for all the troops.
The photos are of the 1/7 Baker Co. that returned last saturday.
The one photo is of our son and his buddy having their cigar they had bought before they left, a well deserved smoke.
Again thank you all here.
God bless you this first day of October. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Good morning Mr. Tonkin! Thank you for today's chapel! Got a snotty little one so I didn't go to church today ~ good to get a little chapel in anyway! *HUGS!*
Good Morning troops! Good Morning everyone! I'll be spending most of today writing an essay on morality in Beowulf so I may pop in from time to time if for no better reason than the fact that I really don't want to right this essay. Here's today's humor attempt!
The boss returned from lunch in a good mood and called the whole staff in to listen to a couple of jokes he had picked up. Everybody, but one girl laughed uproariously.
"What's the matter?" grumbled the boss. "Haven't you got a sense of humor?"
"I don't have to laugh," she replied. "I'm leaving Friday."
