Where in the world do you get the grain? I've never seen it at the grocers....course I prolly never looked!

They're called "wheat berries." They're sold at health food stores, and places like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. (My sister-in-law's sister just got me some of that new strain of "white whole wheat" to try; it's milder than the regular hard wheat kind, but not significantly different.)

You use hard wheat berries for flour for which you need the gluten (like for breads); soft wheat for other stuff.
