Blog: The Sexually Explicit Internet Messages That Led to Fla. Rep. Foley's Resignation

Maf54: You in your boxers, too? Teen: Nope, just got home. I had a college interview that went late. Maf54: Well, strip down and get relaxed.
Another message:
Maf54: What ya wearing? Teen: tshirt and shorts Maf54: Love to slip them off of you.
And this one:
Maf54: Do I make you a little horny? Teen: A little. Maf54: Cool.
The language gets much more graphic, too graphic to be broadcast, and at one point the congressman appears to be describing Internet sex.
Federal authorities say such messages could result in Foley's prosecution, under some of the same laws he helped to enact.
"Adds up to soliciting underage children for sex," said Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and now an ABC News consultant. "And what it amounts to is serious both state and federal violations that could potentially get you a number of years."

Gives new perspective on Denny Hastert's indignation at the violation of Congressman's Offices by the FBI. Lotta law breaking going on up there.

Waiting for an apology from those who jumped my s**t in an earlier thread when this story first broke, with FAR fewer details, and I called it.
Bet I'll be waiting a long time, eh Howlin? You are one of the only ones on that thread that "got it", as usual.

This issue is a dilemma for the NY Times: bad for pubby congresscritter (good for Times), but he's being persecuted because he's gay (bad for Times). What to do??

Children in this nation are conditioned from the time they are drawn to the tube that sex sells every piece of merchandise known to humanity. The Viagra age permeates even the youngest of our kids. (Thank you Bob Dole)
Foley personifies the word hypocrite. He pretended to be all about protection of our children, all the while using that position of power for his own lust of flesh indulgences. His sudden resignation without so much as a whimper says he knows he cannot withstand scrutiny.
Hastert yesterday on Cavuto when asked could only answer with pure disgust in his voice anything about Foley. Hastert's reaction is what convinced me that this was not just a partisan attack that Foley had committed grievances against young people.
Old Clinton and his special powers of compartmentalization of his private mind from his public mind still can't comprehend the shame of his perversion. His mind is so depraved he has deceived himself into thinking he can throw a temper tantrum to stop all the smirking. Clinton's little minded whitewashers saw what Clinton exposed in his fit of rage, thus there they were all over the airwaves claiming it was a good thing Clinton show US he was getting a spinal transplant .... the lunacy of it all is mind boggling.
And the elite educators among us can't figure out why the little ones do so poorly in reading, writing and math.

On the internet, no one knows you're a dog.
They are some strange individuals in the world. Some of them have computers and internet access.
This site is better in the "ick" regard than just about any others.

I am not saying there aren't many hypocrites or pedophile clowns.
But what you're saying is that if someone speaks out against, say, homosexuals seducing young people, that person is more likely a homosexual trying to seduce young people.
Balderdash.

I missed this thread until now.
Thank you for your kind words.
It's been about a year since I've heard the statement that it does seem that quite often some of the most vocal ones are big hypocrites. Sure, some may be closeted gays, but that percent is a fraction of 1%. But leave it to somebody with an agenda to blow it out of proportion and try to make it the rule rather than the exception.

In my time on FR I have noticed that a small group of persons always leap to join anti-gay threads, posting many links they have accumulated. My conclusion, which has been reinforced by conversations I have had with some of these people is that they have had homosexual feelings at some point in their lives. From your statement above:
- there is a small group of persons who leap to join anti-gay threads
- they also post links they've accumulated
- you've had conversations with some of them
- you've determined they have had homosexual feelings at some point in their lives
Well, since there are very, very few people who have accumulated links on the subject of homosexuality and posted those links, I have to wonder if you're just blowing smoke here.
As far as I know in regards to FreeRepublic, I've collected the most links on the subject. Next in line would be EdReform who has done an outstanding job pointing out many of the details behind some of the more blatant homosexual activists, and after that, probably backhoe, who collected a lot of articles on gay marriage.
There really is nobody else at FR that has collected and posted links on the subject, and none in the list have leaped to join anti-gay threads. I don't believe you've had conversations with any of us that would give the impression we had homosexual feelings at some point in [our] lives.
I think you're just blowing smoke.

Glad to see there was some substance to these messages. Seemed all hush-hush.
