One more seat down the drain. Thanks, Mark! Thank you for your sense of responsibility to the party and to the Nation.

I join you in that opinion.

Which is exactly what makes "us" different from "them."

Not me, that is for sure! I strongly feel they are only in the party to weaken it.

FGS, stop that.

Will the democrat candidate be unchallenged or does the law allows the GOP to nominate someone else?

Foley To Resign Over Sexually Explicit Messages to Minors
September 29, 2006 3:02 PM

Brian Ross and Maddy Sauer Report:

Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) planned to resign today, hours after ABC questioned him about sexually explicit internet messages with current and former Congressional pages under the age of 18.

A spokesman for Foley, the chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, said the congressman submitted his resignation in a letter late this afternoon to Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.

Hours earlier, ABC News had read excerpts of instant messages provided by former pages who said the congressman, under the AOL Instant Messenger screen name Maf54, made repeated references to sexual organs and acts.

The full details will be included in a report tonight on ABC World News with Charles Gibson.

"I didn't know you had to be heterosexual to believe in limited government."

Spare me. Congressional members are supposed to reflect their districts; their beliefs. Less than one percent of this country is gay (you'd never know that watching TV or movies these days, since we're all told to worship at the altar of Gaydom), and there's no bloody way a gay is going to adequately reflect and vote according to the belief systems of the majority of his or her constituents. No way whatsoever; absolutely impossible. Add to that the fact that the overwhelming majority of this country are professed Christians (well over 80%) who see homosexuality as a sin.........well, IMHO, that clearly rules out any gay as a member of Congress if they're being honest with their constituents.
