Just breaking on CNN
I already mentioned one possibility.
Can one not even consider the fact that this man could have resigned knowing he'd never get a fair shake in the press regardless of his innocence? Can you think of anyone else we know of who resigned for that reason? Shouldn't the idea be considered that the hell public figures are put through everyday by false accusations might make them consider taking the coward's way out and getting out of the spotlight, even if they are innocent and have to give up power?
I'm taking the wait-and-see approach which I certainly think is quite sensible since all we've got so far is the story from the pages and ABC. If more concrete evidence emerges, then fine, no harm done on my part and I hope he suffers for the rest of his life. If he's innocent, then I can feel good knowing I did not rush and declare an innocent man to be guilty of a horrible, horrible offense.
I don't want to make this personal. I'm not frustrated at you, so if I'm coming off that way, I sincerely apologize.
Thanks for posting that link to NRO...
BUT, if you scroll down, there is a sentence that says that "if Conyers can impeach Bush and Cheney at the same time, NANCY PELOSI would be POTUS"...
That is, if the dems take over the House..
NOW, FOLKS, do you see why MY disappointment is pretty well directed toward the LOST House seat???
What a hypocritical idiot! (if this stuff is true, and it certainly sounds like it)
ROFL!
Can you post the other emails like this? My pdf viewer is not working.
Thanks!
I believe our Congress Critters have kept the age of consent at 16 in Dee Cee. Now we know why.
Nope, not at all. Innocent until proven guilty, and so-called logs of AIM conversations are worthless.
Excuse me....HE IS A REPUBLICAN.
OM Gosh, there you go!
The kid has reset his page to "private." IF it is him, he doesn't want people looking at it and making connections.
I always thought he was 'light in his loafers' but, never would have imagined something as horrid and despicable as this.
According to the statute, Foley can be replaced with a new GOP candidate, however, since the primary has already been certified Foley's name must stay on the ballot but all his votes goes to the new candidate.
Section 4(a) is the relevent part

The Pubbies can get the word out about the replacement for foley and then also poitn out the democrats never make their congressmen caught up in scandal resign, case in point barney frank.
Broussard? Isn't that the name of the older guy who turned on the waterworks on Meet the Press after Katrina? "I'm coming to get you ma...."
I think I'll go have a look. Don't want to, but have too. Thanks.
#2 - one of the few redeeming aspects of Katherine Harris' nomination for Senate was that the nominee wasn't Foley
#3 - NO POOFTERS!!!!!
Since I'm sure I'm about to get labeled a pedophile-supporter for my insistence that we wait and see the specifics (legitimacy of the AIM messages, what was actually said that was sexually explicit, etc.), I think now is a good time to check out some other threads and come back to this one when things have cooled down a bit. (Both on my end and others).
