Those rumors caused him to drop out of the 2004 US Senate race - although Foley said that wasn't the reason. He said he dropped out because of a sick parent.

We just can't catch a break this year. Foley's district is somewhat marginal. I guess Clay shaw and Katherine Harris's old district are safe now. The RATS will allocation all their resources to Foley's district.
