Putting aside the vile content and horrid behavior, they've had them for over a year.

Interesting.

I'm not sure "interesting" would have been your response if Foley were a Dem. "Interesting" seems to have been the response by many in DC who should have known to have a better response than noting that it was all very "interesting." We have to hold everyone involved in this accountable, if they had any evidence that Foley was a pervert. I don't care if Conyers becomes a chairman and Pelosi becomes Speaker as a result. Staying in power uber alles seems to be the only guiding principle in Congress recently.

LOL! What part of foley being booted by the GOP, don't you understand GSC.

But of course in your italicized above you are more than willing to let the party(democrat) that permiited people such as barney frank(had a homosexual prostitution ring be run out of his house in DC) and chappaquidick ted to keep their positions of prestige.

Foley could remain in congress if he would just change parties

I've always felt voting democrat was very much like "playing for the other team".

UH you do know that foley has been kicked out, unlike barney frank and ted kennedy.

UH you do know that this was basically a well-known secret for a year by many, many Republicans in DC, who chose to keep it a secret rather than risk harming their hold on power?

You can choose to defend people who care more about protecting a f#cking pedophile over possibly losing control of Congress if you like. I'm not sure how you can look yourself in the mirror, though. Even without the IMs, there was enough evidence to be more proactive about Foley's fondness for boys. It also appears that page orientation unofficially included instructions to cover your ass when around Foley. There are several people in Congress who could have done something about this, but chose not to really do so until the sh!t hit the fan in the news media. That is more an example of a culture of corruption than any garbage Pelosi has ever cited.

Now they've [the Dems] got their sights set on everyone else who may have had info.

Frankly, I wish them God speed.

Uh and you know this how?

Anyway the fact is that foley has been booted out, unlike your heroes in the democrat party, barney frank and ted kennedy.

Oh, and not that it matters, really, but my nephew is a victim of exploitation that, in the chain of abuse, began with an adult abusing his cousin. Now, many minors in that chain are screwed up for life over this-- and partially because adults who had ideas about things kept quiet out of fear of various things (like the fear of losing power in Congress in this case). I'm a little sensitive about the stupidity of that strategy.

If this is true- and I believe it to be- let it stand as a rebuke against this one man, regardless of party. The Republicans will see that he gets what's coming to him.

It appears that the Republicans sat on this issue for a year without seeing that he got what was coming to him. Now, they are being dragged kicking and screaming to do something and we're supposed to applaud?

You can bet that everybody knew. And I do mean everybody. I am not surprised at all. God only knows what goes on in Washington with these people. I would bet that some that are serving now as a senator or congressperson should be in jail.

Uh GSC, I ain't the one on this thread promoting the democrat party that keeps such perverts and murderers such as barney frank and ted kennedy in positions of power and prestige, you are.

While you criticize the political party that booted out a pervert, one month before an election.

I almost feel sorry for you that the DUmmie strategy you have been working on has backfired. I said almost.

You can't judge actions based on whether someone else does it too and declare it's good.

You are not grasping that the news of Foley wasn't really news at all to many people in Congress. That's the problem. The House could have been more proactive about investigating him a long time ago.

Their first priority was to protect themselves instead of protecting the minor, and they should be all tossed out on their ears for it. They have fallen in love with power so much that they are willing to do anything to keep it.

I expect that from the Democrats but not from our side. It's time to throw the guys out who knew about this crapola and kept quiet...

Well if osama bin ladin's mother would have had had an abortion there would not be 3,000 people dead or two 110 story towers destroyed.

One can't deal wit "what ifs' but deal with the here and now, and the GOP has dealt with the her and now properly(booting foley) while the democrats keep such people as barney frank and ted kennedy in psoitions of prestige and power.

Also, someone such as Ted Kennedy should be expelled.

"Lord only knows what will be coming out now.
"

Very true. There are other sexual scandals in DC involving congresscritters and pages and interns. I have no doubt about this. They're all kept quiet by everyone, because such information damages everyone.

That may well be about to change. Parents of pages and interns are going to be discussing this with their offspring, and more stories are going to come out. Some will be true, and some false, but they will come out.

I've always said that if you took the entire Congress, held it upside down and shook it, pages and interns would come falling out of pockets like rain.

It's a dirty little secret, and secrets want to be kept. Those who have been covering up stuff are going to be really scared right now, and may well stop covering up in the face of this.

The potential is there for major upheaval, and I don't just mean on the right side of the aisle.

Dane, you're giving credit to those in Congress who are doing the right thing only when the bright light of attention is shining in their faces. You don't see the problem with that? Why didn't they do the right thing-- tracking him or getting the FBI involved, asking him to resign months ago, etc. -- before now.

You are trying to justify putting minors at risk by saying it's good for the GOP's desire to hold onto power. It doesn't matter that Barney Frank is in Congress. And besides, when did Barney Frank try to have sexual relations with minors?

Also, someone such as Ted Kennedy should be expelled.

Fat(no pun intended) chance of that ever happening, while GSC criticizes the GOP for actually booting out foley.
