This is off topic but what would be the best liberal site similar to FR? I spent a lot of time at DU, but the posts were so short and cryptic that I finally gave up, because I literally did not know what anyone was saying.
It was like listening to your teenager say a sentence and you have no clue what it is about.
I always enjoyed reading In These Times, The Nation, The Progressive, MS Magazine, Time and Newsweek, New Republic etc,.
I no longer want to subscribe to and read all those publications, but I would like to read other peoples discussions, that do read, and digest those publications, what do you recommend?
Well damn, you're being all civil and stuff.
I would be extremely surprised if congressional staffers and other people of influence in conservative circles DIDN'T monitor this web site for what the base is thinking.
Venting our outrage here is probably one of the more effective things we can do.

Well, in the world of child abuse, I don't think there was as much outrage in general in 1983. Also, the incident was 10 years old when it was brought out (if I am reading correctly).
Besides that, Foley has resigned, he's old news. Now they've got their sights set on everyone else who may have had info.
If this is true- and I believe it to be- let it stand as a rebuke against this one man, regardless of party. The Republicans will see that he gets what's coming to him.
THAT is the difference between us and democrat(is).
Our sexual predators are prosecuted; theirs are party heroes.

And the Barney Franks episode wasn't any better; though the male prostitute, who ran a prostitution ring out of Franks' home, wasn't a minor, his activities WERE criminal.
And is collecting a Congressional pension to boot.
But that doesn't help us unless he switches sides. LOL!
