Washington -- Senate and House Republicans seeking broad changes in immigration law conceded Tuesday that a 700-mile fence on the Mexican boarder will probably pass the Senate this week, but warned the fence will not stop illegal immigration and that lawmakers will continue after the November election to try to expand the ways to gain legal entry into the United States.
After weeks in which hard-line House Republicans have dominated the immigration debate, the ferocity of underlying GOP divisions on the issue broke into vivid public view on Capitol Hill.

We have a 2000 mile border and we are building a 700 mile fence?
"If fences don't work why don't they take down the fence around the White House?"
LOL - Bingo!!
This whole issue is going to unravel the Republican party. All this double-talk and BS is too easy to see through; and everyone does. A 700 mile fence for a 2000 mile border. A guest program being a *necessary* part of controlling the border. Amnesty programs by other names. On and on.
This is stupid. The RNC is going to see all it's grass-roots support wither away as this issue continues to grow into an even bigger national crisis. Then we'll be yet worse off with the rats in control.
The USSR had no problem controlling it's border for some 70 years; and with far less technology than what we have available today. All this crap is double-talk and deception and child could see through it.
