There aren't a billion layers and it isn't solid rock. You can actually go and look for yourself, bend over and scrape a handful of dirt from anywhere in the canyon. Take the mule ride for a close look from top to bottom.

I think I’ll trust the scientists on this - they say the lowest layers test at over a billion years old and they come from all over the world to study the layers or rock. They may also be surface soils, that would be natural from all that decayed rock.

This is a perfect example of the reaching one has to do believe in an earth a few thousand years old. You have to reject dozens of different scientific disciplines not just evolution.
